The state of New Mexico is referred to as the " Land of Enchantment" and Santa Fe is right in the heart of it! The towns beauty, charm and historical ambiance is irresistible and addicting, and so is the food!!
Santa Fe is clean and magical, the skies are spectacular and the sunsets amazing. It is a very spiritual atmosphere that will touch your soul and make you fall in love with this beautiful place. The downtown Plaza is fantastic to walk night after night to shop or choose a new restaurant to try.
The artist are fabulous here in Santa Fe!! I bought a beautiful scarf, necklace, cowboy hat, Baja jacket and earrings from the local artisans. Everywhere you look there is beautiful art and beautiful people. This was one of the best vacations Bill and I have ever taken!! Would visit again and give it a 5 star rating!!

Well, Bill and I had the best time here in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This place is truly the Land of Enchantment. I feel like I was on a pilgrimage to my Catholic Faith visiting the Loretto Chapel where the miraculous staircase stands since the 1850's. The staircase is sometimes referred to as St. Joseph's staircase. It makes over two complete 360 degree turns, stands 20' tall and has no center support. It rests solely on its base and against the choir loft. The risers of the 33 steps are all of the same height. Made of a previously unknown wood species, it was constructed with only square wooden pegs without glue or nails.
Las Palomas Bed and Breakfast ( The Secret Side of Historic Santa Fe) was a fabulous place to stay. We loved our little casita and would stay there again. This 100 year old renovated adobe property is so very charming and romantic. Every guest room at Las Palomas features a fireplace, high speed internet access, kitchens, sitting rooms and a private patio. Wake up every morning to a fabulous deluxe continental breakfast of blueberry waffles and cappuccinos!! Enjoy the fitness center and warm home made cookies anytime of the day. We literally parked our car in the parking lot and walked everywhere.
Bill and I enjoyed many great restaurants such as the the Los Mayas, The Pink Adobe and The Shed just to name a few. The town features many great art museums such as the Georgia O'Keefe and the Palace of the Govenors.
We did take a day trip to Bandelier National Monument to do a 6 mile hike and climb to the Indian ruins and a Fall drive to Taos Ski Resort for a fabulous lunch at Tim's Cantina for green chili burgers and brats.
The shopping is fantastic and the weather was beautiful and I have truly fallen in love with Santa Fe, New Mexico a magical place!!

Santa Fe, New Mexico trip with my Sweetheart
Tomorrow Bill and I will be leaving for Santa Fe, New Mexico for what is since our 50th birthdays an annual trip for two. Two years ago we went to Japan with my brother and sister-in-law and last year we took a cruise to the Mexican Rivera. I am very excited for the fall weather, food, relaxation and the beauty of the Southwest. To be continued....

First Post
Today is October 5th and I am creating my very first blog or journal. Today was an extremely stormy day in the Phoenix Metro area. Power outages, trees down, wind, hail, flooded streets and yes a trampoline from my neighbors backyard flew into the front yard. Wild, wild weather!!! The temperature was however a lovely 68 degrees in Mesa. I think we are in for a very stormy week ahead!!
